Managing Moreton Bay Marine Parks

Last night we listened to a talk about Moreton Bay Marine Parks systems of management. We learnt about managing marine parks and how science research helps the people who make decision to help protect these important areas.

Today I am going out to Waterloo Bay to sample more seagrass and set up some small fish attraction recording stations. Our science work will include sampling seagrass and looking at all of the living things that make up the biodiversity of Moreton Bay including different fish species, seastars, sea cucumbers and our favourite marine mammals (Dugongs and Dolphins).

This is James Udy he is the cheif scientist on our expedition. He is giving the last minute breifing before the Glauca boat leaves for research. This is the boat that I will work on today.
